After 40 years in healthcare, Brian Campbell can no longer work. He is legally blind and recovering from a broken hip, with increased monthly medical costs. He and Charlotte have depleted their savings, have increased expenses, are behind on their mortgage, and need to repair their home so they can sell it. Any gift, and every share, helps.

Who Brian is. Hi, I'm Glen, Charlotte's son. If you know my stepdad Brian, you know he spent about 40 years in healthcare, working with doctors and hospitals to help them improve their services. He is one of the kindest, most caring people around, and he is not a complainer. That is exactly why it is hard for our family to ask for help.

He kept going. Over the last five years, Brian slowly lost his sight, and for the last two years he has been legally blind. He kept working anyway, getting to work by Uber with a cane, through a lot of falls and hard days, with a positive attitude the whole way.

Then he fell. Recently Brian had a bad fall and broke his hip. After surgery, he is working hard in rehab. But he can no longer work, travel or use a computer, so he can't reach out to all the friends and colleagues he has made over the years. We're doing that for him.

Where things stand. With rising costs, less income and Brian's health getting worse, Mom and Brian have used up all of their savings. Their mortgage payment is past due. They have decided to downsize: sell their home and move to a smaller, affordable house. But first, the house needs repairs before it can sell.

Where your gift goes

Your gift helps Charlotte and Brian:

  • Catch up on their past-due mortgage and association dues
  • Make up for lost income while Brian can't work
  • Pay for Brian's medical and recovery costs
  • Make the home repairs needed so the house can be sold

We'll post updates as Brian recovers and as each step gets done.

My mom put it best: "After exhausting all of our resources, we are asking for your help. Through all of this, Brian remains a loving husband, father and grandfather, and still the most positive person I know."

If you can give, thank you. If you can't, sharing this page means just as much. Brian has spent his life showing up for other people. Now it's our turn to show up for him, and we're so grateful for anyone who joins us.

With love and gratitude, Glen, on behalf of Charlotte and Brian
